This course is designed for new climbers who have not been exposed to the use of fall protection equipment before or have limited experience.  This course is for climbers to understand and demonstrate the mechanics and performance of each piece of fall protection equipment they are required to use on the job.  Authorized Climbers typically use preestablished fall protection systems and are not responsible for selecting anchorages or systems.  The Authorized Climber knows how the equipment works but may not have the in-depth knowledge to determine what fall protection should be initially established.  Authorized Climbers must work closely with Competent Climbers or Competent Rescuers.  This course will be comprised of both classroom theory and practical exercises on various fall protection systems, tower climbing techniques and the importance of rescue planning and emergency action plans.  Pre-requisites for Authorized Climber Training: must be employed by a company, and the company must deem the employee is medically fit and capable of climbing.
